It has now almost been four years since the final episode of Gossip Girl was aired and we still spend every possible minute re-watching and missing the incredible cast that was given to us. The Upper Eastsiders we came to love were a big part of our lives for six whole seasons, and still are. After the show said it’s goodbyes, the cast went their separate ways. The two handsome leading men went on to star in their own new shows/movies, whilst the Queen Bees have gotten married and had babies! Let’s see what the cast are up too now and keep all Gossip Girl fans up to speed.
Blake Lively (Serena Van Der Woodsen)
Blake Lively has bagged herself two incredible roles this year. Her first big movie role this year was ‘The Shallows’ in which she plays a woman stranded on a buoy with a shark circling around her. Her second big movie this year was ‘Cafe Society’ with co-stars Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg. Both of these movies are out in the cinema now. Blake has also been making a family with her husband Ryan Reynolds, having a one year old daughter James already and another baby on the way.
Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf)
Leighton has kept life very much on the low after giving birth to her baby girl, Arlo, with husband Adam Brody. However, she has a new show coming out in 2017 called ‘Making History’, an upcoming American comedy in which she will be playing the lead female role.
Chace Crawford (Nate Archibald)
Chace went on to his new ABC series ‘Blood & Oil’, however, that lasted 10 episodes before being cancelled due to low ratings. Luckily, Chace has two movies coming up this year, one including a Warren Beatty movie ‘Rules Don’t Apply’ with co-stars Alec Baldwin, Taissa Farmiga and Lily Collins.
Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass)
Ed went on to play Kent, a serial killer in ABC’s ‘Wicked City’, however, that show was also cancelled after it’s first season. Ed’s new movie ‘Billionaire Ransom’ with co-stars Phoebe Tonkin, Dominic Sherwood and Jeremy Sumpter has recently been released. Now Ed has two movies coming out possibly in 2017 and also a TV comedy/crime series called ‘Snatch’ which will also be coming out in 2017 and has Rupert Grint playing alongside him.
Penn Badgley (Daniel Humphrey aka Gossip Girl)
Penn moved on from Gossip Girl to form his own band ‘mothxr’ who he’s currently touring Europe with, has made a short appearance on TV Series ‘The Slap’ and has had two movies this year, ‘The Paper Store’ & ‘Adam Green’s Aladdin’.
Jessica Szohr (Vanessa Abrams)
Jessica has starred in movie Ted 2 and Nick Jonas’ boxing series ‘Kingdom’. In 2017, she is set to star in a new crime/drama/mystery series called ‘Twin Peaks’.
Taylor Momsen (Jenny Humphrey)
Taylor has currently put her acting career on hold to pursue her music career with band, The Pretty Reckless. Taylor has released three albums, ‘Light Me Up’, ‘Going to Hell’ & ‘Who You Selling For’ and have toured a lot to promote their songs.
Well, we’re glad they’re still out there doing movies and TV shows for us to watch, but we definitely would prefer it if they just brought Gossip Girl back! Do you feel caught up now? Maybe fancy watching a few of these just for the fact of seeing their faces again? Or would you just prefer to keep re-watching Gossip Girl? Let us know at @CelebMix!
