American punk rock band, Green Day, have announced that they will be releasing a new single, titled, ‘Bang Bang’, which will be their first single since 2013. Billie Joe Armstrong, guitarist and lead vocalist of the band, took to Twitter and Instagram to share the news.

The last album the band released was ¡Tré! in 2012, which was part of a trilogy of albums released the same year. In April 2015, the trio were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by Fall Out Boy, 25 years since their first studio album ’39/Smooth’ was released.
There has been speculation over the past few years about new Green Day music, with members of the band sharing photos of them in the studio.
