This one is definitely a classic!
American singer-songwriter, actress and Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (yes, she is all of that) has just debuted her brand new single “I Love You’s” via Republic Records. And hopefully (fingers crossed), this one also serves as a teaser off of her upcoming debut studio album.
“I Love You’s” lyrically deals with the aftermath of a long relationship. Hailee reflects on what has happened to her, how she has behaved and ultimately wishes for “no more I love you’s until I’m okay“.
These heartbreaking words are sung over a sweet and summery melody that features a laid-back yet upbeat production. “I Love You’s” kicks off undeniably recognizable and catchy from the start, thanks to the prominent sample of Annie Lennox’ “No More I Love You’s”, and then develops and takes us on a three minutes and 36 seconds long journey.
“I Love You’s” proves to be one of Hailee Steinfeld’s best releases in her already immaculate collection of pop songs. Her voice shines over the flawless production and we cannot help but listen to it over and over again.
It can so simple yet so hard to release a great pop song but Hailee Steinfeld continues to showcase that she is one of the best repeat offender.
