While December 24th, Christmas Eve, is known as the precursor to a holiday around the world, One Direction fans acknowledge it for a very different, but incredibly special reason. Louis Tomlinson was born on December 24th, 1991 which means he’s just turned the big 26.
25 wasn’t the easiest year for Louis, but you’d never tell by his vibrant spirit and dedication to his craft. After his solo career officially kicked off at the end of 2015, he used this year to really test the waters and find his unique solo sound. He was in and out of the studio, performing at festivals and recording tracks with some of the biggest names in music, and more importantly, he was preparing to tell his story in his own words.
Louis also found a deeper sense of confidence in his 25th year, which as far as milestones go, is one he is much deserving of. Especially since he wasn’t sure he’d try his hand at a solo career at all during their time off. We’re glad that he found the inspiration to push through because from ‘Just Hold On’ to ‘Miss You’, all of Louis’ songs have made an impact on music as we know it.
While today is a day where Louis is sure to be showered in gifts, he gave a bit of a present to his fans just days ago with the release of his ‘Miss You’ vertical video as a special Spotify release. One of the best parts of being a fan of Louis is the way he cares about his fans, and we have to say, we’re a lucky bunch.
As the year rolls to an end, Louis is relaxing and certainly surrounded by memories of 25. The good and the bad, the stages and the television show guest spots, the fans and the friends, and the knowledge that his fans are going to support him through thick and thin. After years, it would be easy for someone in Louis’ situation to become jaded, but he’s still as humble and grateful as he was in the beginning. It’s part of his charm and charisma.
We hope that 26 brings more joy to Louis’ life, more opportunities to showcase his talent to fans around the world, and even more chances to reach new audiences. He’s got the world at his feet, and it’s his for the taking.
As for us, we’re glad today and always to be fans of someone like Louis, someone with the passion and compassion, the kindness and the generosity, and the light that he’s got. His fans credit him for saving them, for being their reason to give it another shot, to try one more day, and more than that – to be themselves. It takes someone with a massive heart to be able to inspire the many people that look up to Louis, the ones who find strength in his music and his message.
So, once again, happy birthday Louis! We hope 26 is your best year yet!
