When something is deeply rooted in who you are, it’s hard to stay away from it. This is definitely true for Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall who have all been rumored to still be working with music – in some form – during One Direction’s hiatus.
During interviews for Made In The AM, the lads spoke about plans to pursue solo projects during the break but promised fans that they’d be back after some time away from grueling schedules both mentally and physically. There are many facets of life in One Direction that fans were unaware of, the boys needing time to explore other parts of the work besides constant touring and recording will not only be rewarding for them, but for their fans as well.
Liam, Niall, Louis, and Harry wrote incredible albums while constantly being on the road and in and out of studios, so during their hiatus it’s only expected that the depth and power of their songs will be that much more impressive. Whether they are writing for themselves as solo projects, to hold onto for their return to One Direction, or when they’re writing music for others, we can’t wait to hear what the boys come up with.
Johnny McDaid has been working with Harry for years, but recently he said that their songwriting sessions have been even more exciting.
“Harry is a really prolific artist and a super-talented guy. He’s really authentic and he has an incredible voice, so we’ve been writing a lot of songs. We’ve been writing songs for years together. I’m really excited by the way he’s sounding at the minute, he’s such a talent. I think the world is going to be really shocked at what he comes up with.”
When asked if he knew when fans could expect to hear Harry’s new tunes, McDaid was unsure but did have this to say about the quality of the work.
“I would imagine that Harry would come up with something that’s going to be pretty special, and from what I’ve heard, it’ll blow the socks off the world.”
Harry has been the brains behind some of this generation’s most romantic and most heart-wrenching tunes. From bangers he’s written for One Direction to songs like “Just A Little Bit of Your Heart” for Ariana Grande – he’s made fans laugh, cry, and fall in love with his words. Recently, Harry registered more songs on ASCAP including “Little Boat” and “Don’t Let Go” and the titles alone made our knees weak.
On top of the music Harry’s been working on during the hiatus so far, he’s also filming the movie Dunkirk in France. He was spotted on set for the first time this week and while little is known about his role so far, we are excited to see him take on another part of his talent and to be doing so with a strong director and cast alongside him.
It’s definitely exciting to look forward to seeing the boys embrace new things over the hiatus and be it their own songs, or songs other people will be singing, the world of music wouldn’t be the same without the contributions of Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall.
