Harry Styles sparks new rumours on his sexuality

Just over a year ago, Harry Styles casually announced to the world that the gender of his potential partner was “not that important”. The statement was pretty clear and the incident was broadly covered in international media. However, that didn’t stop some media outlets from continuing the oh so boring narrative of Harry Styles, the cougar-loving womanizer.

We can only imagine how tiring it must be to have been portrayed so wrongly in the media ever since you were sixteen, and how annoying it must be to see declarations like this lose their power because of a label you can’t seem to get rid off, no matter how hard you try.

But Harry’s not giving up. When given the opportunity, he won’t hesitate to throw hints left right and centre about him not being the “red-blooded straight male” that the media make him out to be. One of those opportunities arose last Sunday at the AMA’s red carpet.

In an interview with Sophia Grace and Rosie, who you might know from Ellen, the One Direction lads were asked whether they had “any crushes on girls”. Harry immediately deadpans “No. Never.”. And while the girls turn to Niall for his answer (“No”), it becomes clear that Harry wasn’t done yet. The mic may be just a bit too far away to hear him properly, but Harry seems to say either “Never again” or “Never a girl”.

While the One Direction fans are currently going full FBI mode on the video to find out what Harry exactly said and the fandom is slowly dividing into two camps, we’d like to point out that it doesn’t matter all that much what Harry’s exact words were.

What matters is that, either way, Harry once again shows that he isn’t afraid to hint towards his sexuality being anything other than straight. This statement may not be as bold as his “not that important” moment, but that doesn’t change the fact that Harry’s still fighting to show the world who he really is. And we think he’s made it abundantly clear that he’s a wonderful young man who inspires people around the world to be proud of who they are every single day.

What do you think? Was Harry joking around or is this another step out of his rumoured closet? Let us know in the comments below or over on Twitter at CelebMix!
