As with most everything surrounding One Direction; speculation has again surfaced this morning surrounding one of it’s members. This time it’s Harry Styles and the rumor is that he’ll be joining a popular television show cast!
The rumor comes from an interview with Lea Michele on Scream Queens being renewed for a second season! Michele says that she’s heard rumors a pop star is set to join their cast next season and she believes it could be Harry Styles. While there’s been no official statement made there are already some outlets almost confirming it as fact – we say don’t hold your breath just yet!
“If it’s Harry Styles, everybody better calm down,” Michele commented. “I love One Direction. Everybody knows this. I’m also thinking that he should be in the Wicked movie. He’s our modern day Mick Jagger.”
Harry himself hasn’t spoken publicly about wanting to dip his toes into acting, but it’s said that it’s unspoken that he wants to by Hollywood Producer Harvey Weinstein.
“When you meet him, he’s super-charismatic. He came to our Oscars party last year and then I went out to lunch with him. I’ve met him two or three times and he was very interested and charming. I think the guy is a movie star.”
Fans of One Direction have been nervous about what the break could mean for Harry, Louis, Liam, and Niall and some have even gone as far as to question if the boys would become more passionate about something they discover in their time away and not return to the band. Each of the boys has made it clear that this is in no way a possibility – that they just want to have fun, explore other interests, and have some time away from their hectic five year schedule.
This doesn’t mean that they won’t be involved in other projects; it’s actually a welcome bit to expect to see the lads in a different setting!
Weinstein continued to say this about Styles as far as his acting is concerned.
“He doesn’t even have to audition for me. We offered him a part and he couldn’t do the movie because he had the tour. The amount of money their tour did is crazy, so he’s got obligations.”
Something about Harry has obviously made quite an impression on Weinstein!
Harry has made it clear that he’s found nothing that compares to the feeling of being on stage, and that he doesn’t think he ever will. Plus how many times have fans been promised that these boys are in no way ready to end their run with One Direction? We’re not worried at all! If this rumor turns out to be true, we doubt that he’ll shy away from music for acting – but he could find a balance of both over their hiatus!
