That’s what you get when you do not familiarize yourself with one of pop-punk’s greatest icons from the past decade. (Whoooooooa)
All three of Thursday evening’s Jeopardy! contestants were left completely perplexed after “Hayley Williams” was their clue under the category “Top 40 Band.” Unable to identify the singer and her Grammy award-winning group Paramore for $1,600, Williams knew she had to comment on the players’ uncomfortable silence.
“I hope they all lost and went home with nothing,” she wrote on Twitter in response to a fan who shared the cringeworthy clip with her.

Last summer, Paramore announced that the band was in the midst of writing a fifth studio album. It has been four years since their last self-titled LP was released, debuting at number one on the US Billboard 200 and accomplishing a great deal of commercial success.
Jeopardy! has been on their A-game lately when it comes to pop culture trivia. Just last month, the classic show introduced a Beyoncé-inspired ‘Becky with the Good Hair’ category. An episode also went viral back in October after Alex Trebek nonchalantly rapped Drake’s song “Jumpman.” Someone even went as far as to hilariously take audio of the host and throw in the track’s instrumental underneath.
Gotta love the Internet.
