Earlier this month pop music and boyband fans were left shocked when it was revealed that pop cutie George Shelley would be leaving the group, Union J.

The Bristol born singer joined the band during the 2012 X Factor series, after he was put into the boyband then known as Triple J, after he failed to make the final cut as a solo act.

Despite the setback of not getting through on his own, George was offered a life-line by producers and was taken under the wing by band members Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley and Union J were born.

The group went on to achieve chart success as a four piece, but after Shelley entered the I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! jungle he started to break out on his own and make a name of himself in his own right, he has since gone on to become a presenter on the radio show Capital FM.

With George Shelley’s new found solo fame, the band decided it would be better for them to continue without him and for George to pursue his solo projects away from Union J.

And since splitting from the group the handsome star has admitted he would like to continue with his broadcasting career and also focus on acting and making music on his own.

So with the possibility of  George Shelley releasing solo music, we here at Celeb Mix thought it would be a good idea to show you exactly why the 22-year-old could be the next big thing.

    He can sing:

Despite being part of a group, George always found time to make sure his gorgeous vocals stood out. His first X Factor audition was a cover of Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ and his unique take on the hit made him stand out from the crowd. He also performed Katy Perry’s hit single ‘Roar’ while on Union J’s arena tour. The band also released solo versions of their track ‘You Got It All’ and Shelley’s is beautiful. His voice has everything it takes to make it to the top of the charts as a solo star.

    He can play the guitar:

During his time with Union J, George showcased his brilliant guitar skills and during multiple live performances the X Factor star would regularly perform with his guitar. And since he can play instruments it will be easier for him to write his own songs.

    He is inspiring and honest.

To make it in the tough world of the music industry you have to be honest and inspiring so that you can connect with your audience and George does exactly that. He has never hid anything from his fans and recently opened up about his sexuality, in an inspiring video the lad admitted that he is attracted to both males and females. This sort of honesty will no doubt endear him to many and will undoubtedly inspire thousands of other young people be able to be open and honest about their own sexuality without the fear of prejudice.

    He is handsome.

Nobody can deny that good looks help you succeed in the music industry, and while looks certainly aren’t everything, George has been blessed with very good looks, luckily he also has a sweet personality which makes his looks even more appealing.
