Here’s What Happened On The Season Premiere Of “The Bachelor”

It’s that time of year again! The Bachelor has returned for its 23rd season and this season, Colton Underwood has taken on the big role. Colton is from Colorado and is ready to be the next Bachelor. Thanks to sneak peaks of the season ahead, this definitely seems like a drama filled season. Will he find the love he deserves? Be sure to tune in to find out!

Luckily for the Bachelor Nation, the first episode was a three hour live special! Other than the big Bachelor premiere party in Los Angeles, California there were also watching parties held by special guests in cities around the country such as Utah, Michigan, and Texas. Within these watching parties, special guests from previous Bachelor and Bachelorette seasons attended and took selfies and spoke with fans.

Blake and Jason, two Bachelorette contestants who made it pretty far on the last season, held their own watch parties in Michigan.

During the three hours, we got a look into the 30 women that all have one goal: to get the attention of Colton and hopefully leave with him and a ring on their finger.

Colton talked to host Chris Harrison about the time he was on Becca’s season of The Bachelorette, his thoughts on the backlash of the choice to make him the new bachelor, and more.

An hour into the finale, it was finally time for Colton to meet the ladies. One by one, each of the ladies came out of a limo, walking up to their potential fiancee. To stand out, some ladies did unique things to grab Colton’s attention such as faking accents, arriving in a horse drawn carriage, joking about Colton’s virginity (yikes) and even dressing up as a sloth.

You’ve probably seen the girl who faked the Australian accent all over social media.

Once all the ladies arrived, it was time for the cocktail party. The cocktail party is for everyone to get to know each other and each woman gets their own special time to get to know Colton a little bit better and vice versa. The night was getting long and some of the girls haven’t spoken to Colton at all, and this is when the drama happens. Some wanted a lot of time with Colton, so much so that they interrupted other girls’ time with him.

Then it was time for the first impression rose, a rose given out by Colton to the girl he liked straight away after they first met. When the rose is put on the table, the tension got real. The first impression rose went to Hannah G. Perfect choice!

The last part of the night was the rose ceremony, where Colton chose the women that stayed and who left. Unfortunately, 3 women had to leave tonight. 27 are left. Yes, there were tears.

We can’t wait for next week’s episode and we are looking forward to the drama-filled season ahead.
