Summer is finally here! Whilst ice cream and beach parties are high on our list of reasons why we love this season, the best is finding the soundtrack to our summer.
This is where British band OMYO come in. The duo from Oxford have been making musical waves of epic proportions. The duo is made up of Tom McCorkell and William Edward. Impressively OMYO have headlined the prestigious BBC Radio One Introducing show this year, and even came second in the 2017 Introducing:Hot Pick awards. Debuting at Wireless Festival, the band are touring with Joceyln Brown and Soul II Soul.
The only thing that could make an RnB band who have the smoothest music any cooler is their next single being the soundtrack to the coolest high street clothing brands newest advert right? OMYO have nailed that too. High street giants Accessorize have picked the band’s next single ‘Mysterious Girl’ as the soundtrack to their spring/summer TV ad campaign.
Aside from having the most incredible sunglasses, Accessorize’s choice of song is incredible. But this isn’t the first time the duo have had their music used for TV adverts. Last year New Look used OMYO’s single Lady in their ad campaign.
OMYO’s lead single ‘Days with you’ is already gaining strong momentum, with well over 100,000 views on YouTube already! ‘Days with you’ hit the Spotify Viral charts at number 16. Record of the day described OMYO as “Cleverly layered slice of grown-up pop..pure quality”.
We recommend adding OMYO onto your Spotify playlist, and make them the sound track to your summer holidays. One thing is for sure OMYO are going to be the hottest band on the scene for a lot longer then just this summer. We certainly can’t wait to catch them live real soon.
