The Incredibles (2004) sequel has grossed $574 million domestically and $430.9 million internationally for a total of $1.005 billion through July 30.
It is the third Disney film of 2018 to accomplish the billion-dollar feat, following the success of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War ($2.044 billion) and Black Panther ($1.346 billion). Not adjusted for inflation, that makes Incredibles 2 Disney’s fifth animated film, as well as the seventh animated film ever, to achieve such a milestone.
Thanks to Toy Story 3, Finding Dory and now Incredibles 2, Pixar is the first and only animated studio to have released three billion-dollar animated films.
Incredibles 2 is expected to continue its domination of the box office worldwide. The superhero family film opens in Japan and Spain this week, followed by Italy and Germany in September.
