Fresh from performing on the Introducing stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, singer/songwriter Emmi is ready to further put her stamp on the music scene with her new single ‘You Said You Loved Me’.
Co-written by Emmi alongside David Dawood (Roll Deep, Tinchy Stryder) and Tonino Speciale (Ella Eyre, Felix Jaehn), ‘You Said You Loved Me’ is a certified pop masterpiece, complete with an undeniably huge hook and cutting, dramatic strings. She has an extraordinary ability when it comes to crafting epic, alternative pop songs and ‘You Said You Loved Me’ is delivered with her ever-distinctive voice whilst being driven by rumbling beats.
Emmi first built a music career by writing songs for other artists. With genres as varied as folk and rap, she stacked up songwriting credits for the likes of Neil Davidge of Massive Attack and Little Nicki. However, as the saying goes, mum knows best, and a late night chat between Emmi and her mum caused a much-needed epiphany for the singer/songwriter; she had a lot to say to the world and she had to be the one to say it.
Support for Emmi was garnered from day one with The Guardian premiering her debut single ‘My Kinda Swag’, deeming it a highlight of 2015. DJ Greg James further supported the track, which led to Radio 1 naming it their ‘Introducing Track Of The Week’ in January 2016.
Emmi can also count Taylor Swift as a fan! She tweeted about one of Emmi’s tracks ‘Sleep On It’ as part of her New Songs That Will Make Your Life More Awesome list. Further supporters have included the likes of Buzzfeed, CLASH, The Line Of Best Fit, The 405, Complex UK, Idolator, Billboard and many more.

Since the release of her last single ’60 Minutes’, Emmi has continued her striking ascent with a co-written feature on Feder’s ‘Blind’, which racked up 70,000 plays on European radio by Christmas. She was also a part of a second collaboration, this time a track called ‘Our Youth’ with Sonny Alven. The song has clocked up over 19 million streams on Spotify and was the soundtrack to a global Pepsi campaign. She also performed the track live at Kygo’s sold out Brixton shows in April.
There is no doubt that Emmi is one of 2016’s brightest pop hopes. Her latest offering ‘You Said You Loved Me’ is epic alternative pop brilliance and has all the credentials to be a smash hit over the next few months. We think that she will continue to go from strength to strength and we look forward to hear what else Emmi has in store.
‘You Said You Loved Me’ is available to download and stream now.
