Phoebe Ryan is a synth-pop newcomer that was recently named one of Sirius XM’s Hits 1 artists to follow, a designation that comes with radio play and exposure to over 25 million listeners. However, I heard of Phoebe Ryan a different way, through another band.
In April, me and a few friends road tripped to the Bardot, a small venue that hosts live music every Monday night to see another unsigned band, Chase Atlantic. The trip itself was quite fun and, if you want to learn about Chase Atlantic, I wrote about them here. Phoebe Ryan was an artist that also preformed that night and her live rendition of her single “Mine” was incredible. I’ve been following her career ever since.
Phoebe released her music video for mine in early Feburary.
Her second music video, for the song Dead, was released just before I saw her in April.
She announced her signing with Columbia Records on May 29th and released her debut EP in early June. The music video for Homie was released shortly after on June 23.
Phoebe just finished a tour that included stops on both the East and West Coasts and Canada. Her smooth and sweet voice blends well with the synth-pop genre and, with her debut album in the works, I would definitely classify her as an artist to watch.
