Some of the most popular famous people in the world such as Niall Horan, HomeTown, and Westlife all come from one country. What country is that we hear you say? Ireland. Introducing another amazing band from the land of the Irish, Wairwe Land!
Who are Wairwe Land?
They are a band that began in 2014 and hail from county Dublin. They play alternative acoustic rock with an electric twist on their music. They started off in Kylemore College of Further Education as a duo with Sean McGrath (lead vocalist) and David McCabe (guitarist and vocalist). Through the college, they were able to enter a Battle of The Bands competition. Seeing as it was an over 18s event, Adam Treacy (bassist) had to miss out as he was not old enough.
The course head then organised a gig for a 4 piece band. David and Sean were then asked to play the gig with Adam and Jordan Higgins (lead guitarist). The gig went amazing after only 4 songs and they had the crowd jumping on their feet for an encore.
They began gigging around Dublin as a 4 piece with the set up of 2 guitars, a bass guitar and a cajon. They even got to play Whelans concert venue! The likes of Kodaline and Ed Sheeran have played there so it was surely a monumental moment for the lads!
They continued gigging around Dublin as an acoustic 4 piece until St Patricks day when their entire set up and dynamic as a band changed. They played their gig in Templeouge with an electric guitar, a bass guitar, two acoustics, a mandolin and a drummer and it gave new life to their sound. The drummer who gave them this new sound is Ian Bailey. As of that day, the band was finally complete!
Since then, they have been playing gigs around Wicklow, Kildare, Dublin and Wexford. They’ve done radio shows and interviews around Dublin and Wexford. They have also appeared on TG4’s ‘Buscar Abú’ in early 2015 and also featured in ‘Your Local Star’ down in Wexford.
They have recorded singles and they plan to release their debut EP later this year.
They are also playing the HYPE Youth music festival alongside HomeTown on May 14th! I definitely suggest that you go along if you are part of a youth group. They will not disappoint you!

Bassist Adam Treacy has a quirky style and likes tattoos. He has had a passion for music since a young age.
Guitarist David McCabe is a funny go to lad and all the girls are mad over him. Hes very funny and a really nice person.
Drummer Ian Bailey can be really quiet until you get to know him. He is very genuine and just a pleasure to be around.
Lead vocalist Sean McGrath has an amazing personality and can be a lad of many mysteries. He can tend to be a bit mischevious but you just have to love him.
Lead guitarist Jordan Higgins is very quiet and cute. He is also very very talented with the guitar.
