J.K. Rowling Takes Down Christian Group who Attacked Tom Daley for Being Gay

J.K. Rowling has jumped to Tom Daley’s defence after he was disgustingly attacked on Twitter for being gay.

Tom Daley, unfortunately, did not make it to the 10-meter platform final at the Olympics. He has since received lots of support from his fans for getting as far as he did regardless of what happened.

However, a Christian group called The Christian Voice apparently decided to voice their own opinion about this.

They tweeted out a rather homophobic statement, blaming Daley’s homosexuality for him missing out on the final:

Daley, who is 22 years old, is currently engaged to his soon-to-be husband and screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.

The group did not reveal what possible link there could be between someone being gay and how it could affect their athletic performance.

Despite the online backlash, the group continued to attack Daley and blamed Dustin for him being gay.

But J.K. Rowling was having none of it and stepped in to defend Daley. The Harry Potter author called out the group over on her own Twitter account:

Her tweet has now gone viral with other Twitter users retweeting the comeback. Many have gone on to attack the group alongside the author with their own tweets. Some have even called for Rowling to unleash some dark magic on the group.

This is not the first time Rowling has stepped in to sort out Twitter trolls as she constantly calls them out on their behaviour.

We love you, Rowling! No one should be shamed for who they love or how they identify.

Your sexuality certainly does not define your abilities, let alone limit them! Love yourself for who you are and ignore everybody else.

Let us know your thoughts about this @CelebMix!
