On January 18th, Jack Bruley released his newest single, ‘Sink Or Swim’.
Jack Bruley was a contestant on the Voice in 2017. He went very far in the competition and had a bumpy road. Jennifer Hudson saved him during the first live knockouts, but then he was fighting for a place in the quarter-final. Sadly, the quarter-final was the last stop for Jack Bruley, as him and three other contestants did not make it through to the semi-final.
Now 18 months later, Jack is back with his newest single ‘Sink Or Swim’. This is the lead track for his EP which is on the horizon. Last year, Jack spent lots of time in the recording studio working on his EP with Rukhsana Merrise, Virgin EMI’s Jack Smith and George Reid of AlunaGeorge, and this became the song he wanted to release first.
Jack Bruley has been inspired by Chris Stapleton, John Mayer, and Justin Timberlake. With help from his mentor Jennifer Hudson, he has been able to create a song that represents him and his sound. According to Bruley, the track is a reference to a gamble every debut record represents. It is bound by an intelligent story, telling and stirring an emotive hook that embodies a sound that he has made his own.
