Jack Dee has left his hosting role at The Apprentice’s spin-off You’re Fired after just one series, the BBC have confirmed. The comedian branded the decision “tough”, claiming to have “fired himself” and citing “work commitments” as the reason for his swift departure.
You’re Fired is a long-running, half-hour BBC2 extra airing straight after the main show. As the name suggests, it brings the sacked candidates out of the shadows to discuss their failures – and proceeds to humiliate them further through witty references to mistakes and mockery galore.
Jack joined the show in 2015 following Dara O’Brien’s exit, and was accompanied by regular panelist Romesh Ranganathan. His hosting stint was met with mixed reception, with some describing him as ‘dull’ – this wasn’t helped by the gloomy set, of course.
