Singer-songwriter Jacob Banks has released the moving video for his latest track, ‘Slow Up’.
Directed by Moe Swaleh and Jacob himself, the visual was teased via billboards in Times Square last week which announced the singer as YouTube’s December Artist on the Rise. Today (November 6), the poignant visual is now available to view in full.
Following in the cinematic footsteps of Jacob’s previous visuals, the video for ‘Slow Up’ captures human nature and the importance of embracing love, not hate. Throughout the visual we are shown a number of different relationships, including friendships and family, which highlight the significance of human connection. The visual also reminds us to slow down and not take life for granted. Our time on this earth is precious, and we should make the most of it spreading love together.

‘Slow Up’ is taken from Jacob’s debut album Village, which was released last week. The 14-track offering includes the previously released ‘Unknown (To You)’ and ‘Be Good To Me’ featuring Seinabo Sey.
Since its release, the album has already garnered praise from fans and the media alike, with Newsweek stating: “Though Village is Banks’ first release, it sounds like the collection from a seasoned musician. With brooding, voluptuous vocals, Banks is intimidating in vocal tone, but welcoming in instrumental balance.”
Later this month, Jacob will be heading out on a UK and European tour in support of Village. Kicking off in Tivoli on November 24, the tour will stop off across Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the UK, France and Switzerland. Remaining tickets are available here.
