Pop sensation JADE has officially kicked off 2025 with the release of her highly anticipated single, ‘IT girl’.
The track is a bold, bass-heavy electro-pop anthem. Packed with attitude and sharp lyricism, the song reflects JADE’s personal experiences in the music industry and the complexities of fame. Written alongside hitmakers Cirkut, Lostboy (known for their work with Charli XCX and Lady Gaga), Lauren Aquilina, and J Hart, the tongue-in-cheek lyrics cut deep while delivering a catchy, high-energy sound.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting the track since it was first teased at the end of JADE’s ‘Angel of My Dreams’ music video. The teaser sparked a frenzy, with fans flooding social media demanding the full release of the song.
Speaking about the single, JADE said:
“‘IT girl’ is the c**nty little sister to ‘Angel of My Dreams’. There’s still so much people don’t know about me, so I was eager to surprise people and prod the bear a bit. I have to write about my experiences in my own melodramatic way. I’m not going to sugarcoat it.”
JADE ended 2024 on a career high, winning the Trailblazer Award at The Rolling Stone UK Awards and gracing the cover of the magazine. She also dominated year-end Best Of lists, with ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ named the No.1 song of 2024 by DIY Magazine and landing in the Top 10 across The Guardian, DORK, Clash, and NME. The track’s visually stunning music video was crowned Video of the Year by Dazed.
On the charts, ‘Angel Of My Dreams’ has been a massive success. The track has racked up over 80 million streams and peaked at No.7 on the UK Official Singles Chart, marking the third-highest debut for a British artist last year. Its music video trended at No.1 on YouTube for ten consecutive days, amassing over 10 million views, and the track held strong in the UK Top 20 for two months.
Since then, JADE has kept the momentum going with two more tracks. ‘Midnight Cowboy’ offered a sultry, bass-driven ode to self-confidence, while ‘Fantasy’ delivered a sleek disco-inspired vibe with a visually stunning video directed by the legendary David LaChapelle.
