Fresh from the runaway success of her debut solo single ‘Angel of My Dreams’ – a wild and arresting out-n-out pop bop that lyrically explored the singers love / hate relationship with the music business – JADE continues make waves with the release of her latest tune ‘Fantasy’.
Written by the singer along with Mike Sabath and Pablo Bowman (with Mike recording every musical part of the track himself alongside production duties), the sleek and euphoric disco-inspired electro pop track sees the South Shields native let down her guard to reveal her deepest desires.
Commenting on the single, the ‘Midnight Cowboy’ singer says: “‘Fantasy’ is a love song that I wrote with dream team Pablo Bowman and Mike Sabath about feeling safe enough with your partner to shamelessly explore your fantasies! We wrote this the day after ‘Angel of My Dreams’ was written, and from then on I always knew it would be the second single. I can’t wait for my fans to experience more of my musical world.”
The alluring songs accompanying music video, directed by legendary fashion photographer David LaChapelle (Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani), was shot on location in LA and sees Thirlwall channel her inner Diana Ross, performing the tracks playful yet provocative lyrics whilst wearing a show-stopping golden dress.
As the 70’s inspired clip progresses however, a bucket of blood is suddenly tipped over her head, a reference to the 1976 movie ‘Carrie’.
