It’s no secret that Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall has a heart of gold. From raising over £6000 for Cancer Connections by donating her clothes to Empire Preloved to supporting Stonewall UK at her early 25th birthday party, Jade is always using her platform to raise awareness and funds for incredible charities.
Yesterday, Jade celebrated her 25th birthday and kicked off her day by showing her support for a charity close to her heart. Joined by her partner Jed Elliott and various family members, Jade once again took part in the South Shields Boxing Day Dip in aid of Cancer Connections.
Dressed as Santas, Jade and co joined hundreds of people who ran into the icy waters. Similar to last year, the Little Mix songstress, who is also a patron of Cancer Connections, ran in aid of her Auntie Norma.
Speaking to the Shields Gazette, Jade said: “It’s cold but it’s not as bad as last year. I have time off over Christmas and it’s something we do every year to raise money and awareness for Cancer Connections, and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on this day. I’m doing it this year in honour of my auntie Norma who passed away last year, so it means a lot to all of us this year. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else on this day.”
What a great way to start Jade’s 25th birthday! After drying off and warming up, Jade took to Twitter to thank everyone for their kind birthday messages. The only real dampener to her day, it seems, was being denied a birthday ice cream from Minchellas as they were closing – but y’know, can’t go wrong with a good old choc ice Jade!
Thank you so much for all the lovely birthday messages so far! Being a quarter of a century never felt so good! Love to you all ?? jade x
