Jameela Jamil, who plays Tahani Al-Jamil in the NBC comedy, “The Good Place,” attended her very first Golden Globes event, and let’s just say that it was definitely a night to remember.
During E! Live on the Red Carpet, Jamil appeared on television and was mistakenly identified as “Kamila Al-Jamil,” the name of her character Tehani’s sister. For fans of “The Good Place,” the mixup becomes even more hilarious considering that in the show, both Tehani and Kamila are celebrities, but Kamila is always taking the spotlight from her sister. The mixup is something that would totally happen to Tahani, which left fans wondering whether this was all a joke or just an ironic mistake.
Once Jamil heard of the mixup, she went on Twitter to write, “E live red carpet. This is legit the funniest thing I have ever seen. What a joyous mistake. Tahani would DIE!”
She added, “Hands down the greatest of red carpet jokes from whoever did this. It’s made my night.”
Jamil attended the Golden Globes with her co-stars from “The Good Place,” including William Jackson Harper (Chidi) and Manny Jacinto (Jason). The series was nominated for Best Television Series, with its leading actress, Kristen Bell, also being nominated for Best Actress in a TV series.
The third season of “The Good Place” returns Thursday, January 10 at 9:30/8:30c on NBC. The first two seasons are available now on Netflix.
