Jay Putty, a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from small town Indiana first picked up a guitar at age 12 and soon realized that music was his dream. He began embracing himself in the art of it all; singing, performing, and writing and now, almost ten years later, Jay is living in music city Nashville still chasing that dream and discovering who he is in the process.
Jay draws inspiration from a wide variety of musicians. He lists some of his influences as Ed Sheeran and One Direction to John Mayer and Cole Swindell. If you look at Jay’s music up until now, you can see the way he’s been impacted by all sorts of musicians, but lately, country music has been at the center of Jay’s heart and we think he’s got a knack for it.
Jay has been working hard on perfecting a new wave of songs and it seems that not only is he happy with them, he wants his fans to be happy with them too. This morning, July 5th, he put his new album up on his website for free streaming and included the promise of a free download coming soon too.

The five song album definitely grabbed our attention as we listened closely to each tune enjoying the sound, the vocals, and incredible lyrics that make them absolute must haves on your summer playlist.
‘Soon Aint Soon Enough’ embodies the fun and exciting feeling of a first love. The way it feels like you might actually stop breathing if you have to be away from them for a moment longer than you have to, all while wishing those moments apart weren’t necessary at all. It’ll definitely take you back to your first love, or get you excited if you’re currently experiencing it.
‘All I Need To Know’ sounds a bit like a Jack Johnson tune at the beginning, the beat is beautiful and Jay’s vocals soon join in making the song intoxicating. This song is about feeling comfortable in your life right where you’re at – having everything you need and not even finding the time to desire anything else.
‘Worth The Wait’ is a bit about proving to yourself and your significant other, that what you’ve got is worth it – worth the wait, worth the struggle to let go of your walls and put it all on the line. It’s about feeling the good and bad with someone and realizing that who they are to you, who they make you, is worth both.
‘No Other’ is a tune that, if you’re lucky enough to find yourself on the receiving end of, will make you feel like the entire world is at your feet. Following a bit of the same sentiment as ‘Worth The Wait’ it’s about love, passion, and knowing that who you’re with is who you want for the rest of time.
Finally, ‘Mr. Unforgettable’ rounds out the album with a cool sound that talks about being everything someone needs. It’s easy to be so infatuated with someone sometimes that you sort of don’t look at the entire picture all at once, and sometimes, you end up giving your all to someone not quite deserving of it. Mr. Unforgettable is written from the viewpoint of someone who’d be willing to give you the world, and you won’t soon forget it.
We’re absolutely glad that Jay put this album out, as a surprise, to his fans and it couldn’t have come at a better time. These songs are perfect for a summer day drive, a bonfire at night, or for the times you sing way too loud and dance around the house while you’re getting ready for the day. There’s something for everyone!
Jay’s passion for music is evident in everything he does and if you’re hooked now that you’ve heard the album, check out his YouTube channel.
