Friday morning, Jesse McCartney dropped his second single of 2018, “Wasted.” This single sounds like Jesse’s previous release. We experienced a glimpse of early 2000’s Jesse with “Better With You” in March.
Listen to “Wasted” here.
The tune recounts McCartney, 31, singing to a girl about how she only calls when she’s “Wasted.” The beat is very dancey, the lyrics risque, and McCartney’s voice is soothing.
After performing at John Carroll University in Ohio, he posted a video to Instagram video with the caption “What did you learn in school today?” promoting the new single.
The “Beautiful Soul” singer has been teasing the single for about a while now. He even sang it at some tour dates on his Better With You Tour this past summer.
After positive reactions from fans, he decided to make it the next single.
The singer did a Facebook and Instagram live on Wednesday and talked about (and played a part of) the new single, his upcoming music collection, and answered fan questions. The new collection of music, according to McCartney, will be out later this year or sometime next year.
McCartney and his team are doing this all on their own, so putting out music is taking a little longer than usual.
If you missed out on seeing him live this past summer, you have another chance! The Resolution tour was just announced. Starting on January 11th, McCartney will be heading back out on the road.
