Asian American pop singer/songwriter and acclaimed engineer jly has just shared her latest irresistible musical offering. Called “goodbye” the song and music video is released in June to celebrate Pride Month.
With “goodbye”, jly has crafted an emotive and poignant song all about loss after a love relationship has ended. Tender vocals sing lyrics questioning the former love asking why they left. The music video mirrors the song’s theme of post-breakup feelings, where everything is linked to the memories of one’s past love. jly confides, “The 80s synth pop beats follow a WLW storyline of bittersweet reminiscence of a love come and gone, highlighted with Euphoria style lighting, original jazz funk choreography, fun retro outfits, and even the cameo of my pup, Brie.” Musically, “goodbye” features nostalgic dipped warm vocals singing cathartic melodies over pop rock landscapes. jly has managed to write an effervescent song that is equally sad as it is healing.
jly began sharing music in 2018 and since then the prolific writer has shared a series of singles and an EP to boot. Her musical style ranges from acoustic pop to dance pop, with each release captivating audiences.
