Joe is best known for being a YouTube sensation. His main channel ThatcherJoe has amassed over 8 million subscribers, whilst he also shares content on ThatcherJoeVlogs and ThatcherJoeGames. Alongside his incredible YouTube career, Joe also wrote, starred and executive produced two travelogue shows with his friend and fellow YouTuber Caspar Lee – Joe and Caspar: Hit the Road and Hit the Road USA.
Joe is also the author of the successful graphic novel trilogy Username: Evie, which became the fastest selling graphic novel of all time. Additionally, he recently set up his own talent management firm with Caspar called Margravine. He will be the first YouTuber to take part in Strictly Come Dancing, which is surely set to open doors for more social media stars in the future.
Speaking about taking part in the show, Joe said: “I’m honestly so chuffed to be involved in the show this year! Not going to lie, I’m very nervous about it, it’s totally out of my comfort zone and I know it will be a huge challenge but that’s what life is all about I guess.”
“Funnily enough I’m writing this statement whilst on the way to surprise my grandparents with the news. They are going to be so happy which will definitely make up for any embarrassment or cringe caused by my questionable rhythm.”
Joe joins the previously confirmed Katie Piper, Faye Tozer, and Danny John-Jules. This year’s series is already shaping up to be an exciting one, with more Strictly announcements to follow in due course.
