Youtuber Joey Graceffa has just released the trailer for his new horror drama YouTube Red original series, “Escape the Night”.
The series follows Joey as he has nightmares about a strange mansion, which he then becomes the owner of. He invites friends to a dinner party at the house, which happens to be stuck in the 1920s. However, in a twist of events, the group must find and solve clues in order to keep Joey alive. There is also a mysterious “YouTube killer”, and everyone in the group is a suspect! No one is safe as they go to extreme measures to solve the clues and are continually haunted by the horrors of the mansion.
Joey brought together a star studded cast for this series. Acting alongside Joey are YouTubers: Timothy DelaGhetto, Shane Dawson, Eva Gutowski, Sierra Furtado, Oli White, GloZell, Lele Pons, iJustine, Andrea’s Choice, and Matthew Haag. This is such a diverse and interesting mix of people! We’re excited to see how they interact with each other and bring personality to the show.
YouTube Red is YouTube’s new subscription based service, that is currently available for $9.99 per month in the U.S. It offers features such as no ads, saving videos for watching offline, and playing videos in the background. It has also been the home for many other original movies and shows. Some of these include: Lilly Singh’s “A Trip to Unicorn Island”, Pewdiepie’s “Scare Pewdiepie, PrankvsPrank’s “Prank Academy” and MatPat’s “Game Lab”.
Escape the Night becomes available on YouTube Red on June 22nd. Joey will also be hosting a live Q&A and fan screening of the movie at VidCon on June 23rd.
