John Newman has announced information about his new single ‘Olé’.
The singer took to Facebook for a live stream with fans, where he told them that ‘Olé’ would be premiered on Friday. The track has been written and produced by Calvin Harris, who is good friends with John. The pair have previously worked together on the monster hit ‘Blame’.
‘Olé’ will get its first airing on Spotify on Friday, and John also confirmed that it will receive its first radio play on Nick Grimshaw’s breakfast show on Radio 1.
John has been teasing the track for a while, and revealed that it is unlike anything he’s ever released before. Speaking to Digital Spy during Capital’s Summertime Ball, John said that the song is “just chilled, and I know Calvin’s really, really proud of it as well. He says it’s one of his favourite songs he’s ever written.” ‘Olé’ is set to be a reggae-style track with a strong summer vibe to it.
This is the first time that John has released a single which he didn’t write himself, therefore it will be interesting to hear what Calvin has created and how John has put his signature stamp on it. The pair recently flew to Mexico to film the music video, which will no doubt get us into the summer spirit.
We can’t wait to hear ‘Olé’ when it debuts on Friday! Are you excited for the track? Let us know @CelebMix.
