Congratulations to Justin Bieber who has claimed his fifth week at Number 1 in the Official UK Charts with What Do You Mean?
The track is the second longest Number 1 of the year, just behind Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk. What Do You Mean? is Justin’s most successful song in the UK and comes from his upcoming fourth studio album Purpose, which will be released on November 13th.
This week Justin fought off strong competition to remain at the top spot. R City and Adam Levine’s Locked Away remained at Number 2 whilst Drake leaped from 8 to Number 3 with Hotline Bling.
Naughty Boy’s Runnin’ collaboration with Beyonce and Arrow Benjamin took the Number 4 spot whilst The Weeknd climbed from 23 to Number 5 with The Hills.
There were also new entries from Jamie Lawson, peaking at Number 6 with his song Wasn’t Expecting That whilst Olly Murs claimed his 12th top 20 hit with Kiss Me, charting at Number 14. The 1975 also charted at Number 20 with their latest offering, Love Me.
Justin Bieber has a tough time ahead of him to keep the top spot next week, as One Direction released their latest single Perfect yesterday. The song is already riding high on the iTunes chart but the official chart position won’t be released until Friday.
Other contenders for the top spot are fellow boyband giants Take That who also released their single Hey Boy yesterday, as well as last year’s X Factor winner Ben Haenow who’s released Second Hand Heart, a collaboration with Kelly Clarkson.
