If someone was to ask you how you knew Kate Hudson, what would you say? Would you say that you know her as an amazing actress? She rose to fame playing Penny Lane in, “Almost Famous,” back in the year 2000 and has since starred in over thirty-five movies and television shows. Would you say that you know her as a fashion designer? Just a couple of years ago, she partnered up with online fashion retailer Just Fab to launch her own line of active-wear. Would you say that you know her as a singer? No? Well, that might be about to change.
In a recent interview with Jimmy Fallon on his NBC show, “The Tonight Show,” Kate revealed her plans to get involved in the music industry. She confessed, “I’d love to do a record. I’ve always been scared of making music though. I like authentic songs and music that feels really honest. I love pop music!”
Although most people know Kate for her acting, she has music in her blood so it really is no surprise that she has such a love for it. Her estranged father is singer Bill Hudson, and she has two sons with musicians Chris Robinson from The Black Crowes and Matthew Bellamy from Muse.
She then quipped, “I feel like it would be like, ‘Oh Kate’s gonna do- Woah! What is that?”
Despite her reservations, it sounds like she is really determined to make a go of a music career. She then told the television show host, “I want to do it. I think I’m just going to do it for the sake of doing it to see how it turns out. Why not? That’s how I feel. I’m old enough now where it doesn’t really matter anymore. Music is my first love.”
And in case you needed anymore convincing, Kate proved that she can really sing during a break in the show. She sang En Vogue’s, “Hold On,” with Jimmy and backing band The Roots. Check out her incredible voice in the video below and let us know what you think.
