2019 has been filled with new music from pop star Katy Perry and it doesn’t look like it’s ending anytime soon. Perry will release her new single, “Harleys in Hawaii,” this Wednesday, Oct. 16. She announced the single via social media on Monday.
“Harleys in Hawaii” is co-written and co-produced by Charlie Puth.
Perry previously spoke about the track in an interview with DJ Zach Song back in July. She said the song is about renting a motorbike with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
The music video was also filmed in July in Hawaii and will most likely be released along with the song on Wednesday.
“HIH” follows the release of her previous singles, “Never Really Over” and “Small Talk,” and is her third single from her yet to be announced fifth album.
This era seems to be almost completely different from her previous album, “Witness.” It is filled with pastel and bright colors and almost resembles throwback (60’s and 70’s) themes.
Perry also released two collaborations this year, “365” with Zedd and “Con Calma Remix” with Daddy Yankee. However, these two tracks are most likely not on her upcoming album.
She has stated her reluctance on releasing a full album unless there is demand for it. The pattern of album and tour has been her life for ten years straight and wants to take some time off from it.
However, if you miss seeing Perry on stage, you won’t have to wait much longer. She will headline the OnePlus Music Festival in India on November 16th. Also, to get into the holiday spirit Perry will perform at two dates of the Jingle Ball Tour on December 6th and 7th in LA and Chicago. Hopefully, she will perform her Christmas tune, “Cozy Little Christmas,” for the first time.
We cannot wait to hear this new track!
