You may or may not have heard of this artist, but she is blowing up and is definitely set to make her mark. From her flawless vocals, insane dance moves, and that bad-girl persona, there is no question that Oakland native, Kehlani Parrish, will be the new face for the future of R&B.
At only 20 years old, Kehlani has snagged herself a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album. The crazy thing is that Kehlani has not even released a debut album yet! Her MIXTAPE, You Should Be Here has been nominated.
There is no doubt that this nomination was well deserved. Kehlani has always been the underdog and puts her heart and soul into her music. She started out in the American version of America’s Got Talent in a group called “PopLyfe”.

The group made it pretty far but after being eliminated, the group went separate ways and Kehlani decided to pursue music on her own. Since then, it has been her mission to make her music come to life. Back in early 2015, she almost lost it all when her laptop containing all her music was stolen while performing at California State University East Bay. Luckily, Kehlani was able to retrieve her laptop back and continue on her mission.
Kehlani and “You Should Be Here” has actually received a lot of love amongst other celebs. Her song “Alive” off of her mixtape has also been featured on Taylor Swift’s list of “New Songs That Will Make Your Life More Awesome”.

You might have even heard Kehlani’s remake of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” with Charlie Puth on the radio.
Either way, for not even being 21 yet, Kehlani has reached many milestones in just a short amount of time. She recently just sold out all of her “Tsnunami Christmas” shows in both America and Europe.
