Kendall Jenner is definitely no stranger to opening up about her life, although most of the time she doesn’t have too much of a choice about it. Her every move is documented through multiple camera lenses and as a result of this, she is one of the most relevant and talked about celebrities in the world right now. It’s a shame that she has had to give up her privacy to become the huge star that she is today, but she seems to have come to terms with it and she proved this once more when she recently chatted with Harper’s Bazaar about everything from her fun love life to being less girly than her famous sisters.
The model and reality star is featured on the front cover of the May issue of the monthly fashion magazine and while she looks stunning in the pictures from her shoot, the real talking point comes from what she revealed inside.
When she was asked about how the filming of Keeping Up with the Kardashians affected her, or if it even did, Kendall said, “We were normal kids. The cameras barely fazed us.”
She then divulged that even though she grew up around a whole camera crew prying into her private life, she feels like she still had a somewhat normal childhood. While Kendall acknowledges that she went to a lot of movie premieres and had a lot of luxuries in her life from a very young age, she says that she tried to stay true to herself as much as possible and enjoyed doing simple things like riding horses and dirt bikes, and playing with her Barbie dolls.
“I was a huge tomboy,” Kendall admits to the magazine. “I had a phase where I wore boys clothes. I was always hanging out with guys, I’ve always connected with guys more.”
This statement might be a little bit surprising to some people considering that Kendall’s older sisters have made a name for themselves through being girly. Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Kardashian have always been interested in glitz and glamour. They wear the most gorgeous dresses on a daily basis, their glam squad is almost as famous as they are, and they are rarely seen without high heels on their perfectly pedicured feet. The women ooze girly glamour so it wasn’t much of a surprise when younger sister Kylie followed in their footsteps.
But Kendall is different, and this is something that she is well aware of. “I’ve always been different. I mean, I’m a girl and I like being a girl but I’ve just never been into it all like they have. I think I get it from my Dad. I’d say I am more of a Jenner than a Kardashian.”
Kendall also spoke to the magazine about her anxieties, which have sadly heightened for obvious reasons over the last couple of years. When asked about how her anxiety affects her, Kendall revealed, “I wake up in the middle of the night freaking out. I have full panic attacks. They wake me up from my sleep and I need to stand up and I pace. I’m freaking out and I’m crying.”
Yet somehow, the brunette beauty has managed to keep her chin up and continue living the life that she has always dreamed of living since she was a little girl. Despite the pressures of fame and all of the downsides that come with it, Kendall has made a point of trying to be as normal and as real as possible.
Her down to earth personality would make it easy for her to get a date (and obviously, her gorgeous good looks will play a big part in that too…) but Kendall insists that she just wants to have fun and be young right now. She told Harper’s Bazaar, “I’m not engaged. There’s nothing long-term or serious in my life. I’m just doing my thing. I’m having fun.”
Kendall also spoke to the magazine about buying her dream car, her relationship with her family, her stance on the rumours that are constantly being spread about her, and more.
