Rising Kiwi pop princess PRINS switches up the pace and lets her guard down, with the unveiling of her first musical release of 2022, “That’s the thing x” – a moody and melancholic reflective take on modern day relationships.
Written by PRINS, along with Marlon Gerbes (Six60) and produced by House of Wolf (Carlie Hanson), the super melodic, deeply introspective track sees the “Follow Me” singer explore themes of trust, vulnerability and self-sabotage, as she poses a number of leading questions in her quest to find true love.
Serving as the follow up to 2021’s “Midnight Calling”, which landed at an impressive No.11 on the Music Week: Commercial Pop charts last October, “That’s the thing x” marks somewhat of a sonic shift for PRINS, as she swaps high-energy dance beats and anthemic pop melodies for more subtle, R&B/soul inspired grooves and choral harmonies.
