A couple of days ago, it was announced that Kylie Jenner is ELLE’s February 2016 cover star. In her first major interview with a British magazine, the 18 year old opens up about growing up as part of one of the most famous families in the world, how Justin Bieber helps her deal with fame, her relationship with Caityln Jenner, and how she plans to give up fame.
When talking about Justin Bieber helping her with fame, Kylie said, “I’m so close to him because I feel like he’s been through exactly what I’ve been through in a completely different way but very similar.” She continued with, “So he’s just…he just… gets me, and every time I see him he always sits me down and is like, ‘Are you OK? You’re amazing, You can get through this, just stay true to yourself.’ He helps me a lot.”
It is already well known that Kylie and Justin have an amazing relationship. In July 2015 when Kylie posted a picture of herself wearing cornrowns on Instagram, people started accusing her of being racist. Justin came to Kylie’s defense and told everyone to leave her alone. He said, “Guys leave her alone, we’re all trying to figure it out and she happens to be under a microscope!” He continued with, “I’m the first know this. But saying she’s being racist because she wants her hair in braids is ridiculous. Let’s focus on the bigger picture and instead of fighting over something stupid let’s do something about equality, but it doesn’t start here blasting a 17 year old kid for wearing braids smh.”
That was not the only time Justin had stood up for Kylie in the past. In November 2015, Justin did an interview with Billboard and opened up about his friend Kylie. He said, “I want people to be more kind to young celebrities. Like Kylie [Jenner]. Look at her world: She has been living on TV since she was a kid. Every time she’s looking around she sees a camera, and that’s affecting how she’s thinking and how she’s perceiving people and why she has to do certain things … Situations that happen taint your mind, especially in this industry. Especially for girls.”
