Lady Gaga has entered a new chapter away from the stage. The singer and her fiancé, entrepreneur Michael Polansky, have welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Rose Bean Polansky, PEOPLE reported.

According to their report, Rose was born on June 9, 2026. The couple have not publicly commented on their daughter’s birth or confirmed her name and sex through their representatives. However, the couple were recently photographed by paparazzi while out for a walk with their baby girl.

The baby’s name appears to carry a distinctly Gaga connection. A source told PEOPLE that Rose was inspired by “La Vie En Rose”, the French standard Gaga performed in the 2018 film A Star Is Born. The song became closely associated with her portrayal of Ally in the film, which also earned Gaga an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Shallow”.

Gaga’s connection to “La Vie En Rose” goes beyond her A Star Is Born performance. She has a large rose tattoo running down her spine, accompanied by the words “la vie en rose” in script.

The source also told that Rose’s middle name, Bean, may be a nod to activist and singer Carl Bean, who was an inspiration for Gaga’s 2011 anthem “Born This Way”.

News of Gaga and Polansky becoming parents was first confirmed on September 11. Sources subsequently told the publication that the singer is enjoying spending time with her newborn and has stepped back from the public eye. “She always wanted to be a mom,” said the source, adding that motherhood had been important to Gaga for years.

The couple’s relationship became public in 2020, and Gaga confirmed their engagement in July 2024. Polansky has also worked creatively with Gaga, co-producing and co-writing songs on her 2025 album Mayhem. For Gaga, motherhood arrives after years of speaking openly about wanting children. In a 2019 interview with YouTuber NikkieTutorials, she spoke about wanting to have children alongside pursuing more acting work.

Now, with Rose Bean, one of Gaga’s most recognisable musical references has seemingly found a new place in her personal life.
