With it being confirmed that Lady Gaga has been working with producer SOPHIE on new music, fans have been trying to guess how the next era of Gaga is going to sound.
SOPHIE, the mastermind behind Charli XCX hits such as ‘Vroom Vroom’, ‘Girls Night Out’ and ‘No Angel’, is one of the most exciting pop brains out there today. After rumours that SOPHIE had been working with Lady Gaga, the Scottish producer confirmed the news this summer.

As Gaga fans eagerly await the new music, they still have the phenomenal soundtrack from A Star Is Born to keep them going. One of the most pop sounding tracks from the film is ‘Why Did You Do That’, which Ally performs on SNL during her meteoric rise in the film.
One Gaga fan has taken that track and merged it with Charli XCX’s last mixtape, Pop 2, to create a futuristic sounding version that could well be what the next Gaga era sounds like.
@antpats2 on Twitter and @ARTPOPGAGA2019 on SoundCloud, the artist’s take on the track has already gathered a lot of attention on social media, whetting fans’ appetite for the future. Here’s what he had to tell CelebMix.
“I saw that many people, including Charli XCX, said that ‘Why Did You Do That’ sounded very much like something from Charli’s Pop 2 mixtape. I thought it would be cool to work with the idea. Plus, I’ve been writing music for years and began producing this year, and thought that remixing the track and giving it a more PC music/futuristic electronic vibe would be a great way to improve my production skills.”
“I put out the one-minute version as a teaser to see what people thought. Besides, using a few drum and FX samples, I produced the majority of it from scratch and wanted to hear from others before I went ahead and completed it. I am truly blown away by the love it is getting and have already begun work finishing it into a full remix.”
