Although the Oscars aren’t until March, keeping up with all the films that have winning potential isn’t an easy task. Considering not every movie can be a winner, it’s also not easy to pick and choose which movies might get the coveted nod of approval from the academy. The list of Oscar-potentials is bound to have several of these movies listed.
And in order to make this process easier for you, we’ve compiled a list of movies coming out in the second half of 2018 that have already gained some Oscar buzz.
Watch the trailer, mark your calendars and let’s go to the movies!
A Star Is Born, October 5
Beautiful Boy, October 12
If Beale Street Could Talk, November 30
Bohemian Rhapsody, November 2
Boy Erased, November 2
Widows, November 16
First Man, October 12
The Hate U Give, October 19
The Sisters Brothers, September 21
Mid90s, October 19
Although these movies haven’t been released yet, their trailers, cast and directors have already gained enough buzz to be considered amongst the most likely to get nominated for the 2019 Oscars. And even though we won’t know how good these films are until they’re released, they still seem worth watching.
This list is, of course, not definitive. Tons of movies came out earlier in the year that have generated lots of buzz. Once the list of nominees is out, movie theaters, like AMC in the US, might marathon them the weekend before the Oscars.
