Denmark became the latest nation to choose its act for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest during the annual national selection show, Melodi Grand Prix.

During the national selection show, 10 acts performed live and based on these performances, three acts were chosen for the super final.

The three acts in the super final were former X Factor contestant Sigmund with ‘Say My Name’, the duo Julie & Nina with League of Light’, and Leonora with ‘Love Is Forever’.

In the end, 20-year-old Leonora was chosen as the winner with 42% of the votes, which means that she will represent Denmark at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel later this year.

    Listen to her song below:

‘Love Is Forever’ was written by Lise Cabble, Emil Lei, and Melanie Wehbe. While Lei and Wehbe made their Melodi Grand Prix debut with this song, this is Cabble’s fourth win at the annual Danish selection show. Her latest win was in 2013, where she co-wrote Emmelie De Forest’s song ‘Only Teardrops’, which later went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden.

The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest will be hosted at the Expo Tel-Aviv in Israel. The two Semi-Finals will take place on 14 May and 16 May, and the Grand Final is taking place on 18 May. This year, 42 countries will compete in the contest.
