The Band Perry consists of three siblings: Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry. Over the last few years, country and pop audiences have seen their growth ever since their debut single ‘Hip To My Heart’ was released.
Following the top 20 country single debut, it wasn’t until their second single (known as their signature hit), ‘If I Die Young’ that the world began to take more notice of the group. Not only was it certified 6x Platinum in the United States but Platinum in Canada and reached the number one spot on the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart and U.S Country Songs chart. It also made impact worldwide, landing spots on Canada’s Hot 100, the U.K. top 100, South Korea and Ireland charts.
The songs captivating message made the song especially relatable to people everywhere and we think it’s one of those songs that’s helped foster continuity of country pop music. It’s honestly beautiful and we continually find ourselves repeating the music video (and song in general) over and over again.
They then received a Grammy nomination nod in 2011 for Best Country Song (‘If I Die Young’) and FIVE American Country Music Award nominations winning two, Top New Artist, and Top New Vocal Duo/Group.
Success continued for the group and they received another nomination at the Grammy’s in 2012 for Best New Artist. In 2015, they finally received a Grammy win in the category of Best Country/Duo Performance for ‘Gentle On My Mind’ which was a song showcased in the soundtrack for the documentary Glen Campbell: I’ll Be Me.
Their sophomore effort, Pioneer, combined stronger elements of country-rock and saw that with songs such as ‘Done’, one of our favorite Band Perry tracks. In fact, it’s received universal acclaim for being insanely catchy and full of sass and class.
Overall, The Band Perry have sold over 15 million records worldwide and hope to see them achieve more success. Their next album is sure to be a hit like their previous records and we’ll be the first to buy and take a listen!
