While in New York City for a performance on Good Morning America, Liam Payne revealed that his debut album will be released on September 14th.
Payne made the news just minutes before taking the stage at SummerStage Central Park, where he and collaborator J Balvin performed their Spanglish summer hit “Familiar.”
During an interview backstage, Payne confirmed that his debut album will be released this fall. He said, “It is out on the 14th of September. I can tell you that much,” adding that he’s “really happy” with how it’s turned out. The singer also revealed that fans can expect a “good mix” of collaborators on the project.

The album will mark Payne’s first full-length album since taking an indefinite hiatus from boy band One Direction. Ever since fellow members Harry Styles and Niall Horan released their debut albums last year, fans have been eagerly anticipating Payne’s debut release.
As a solo artist, Payne achieved great commercial success with debut single, “Strip That Down,” which peaked at No. 3 on the UK Singles Chart and and No. 10 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Following “Strip That Down,” the singer released singles “Bedroom Floor,” “Get Low” in collaboration with producer Zedd, “For You” for the Fifty Shades Freed movie soundtrack and most recently, “Familiar” with Colombian singer J Balvin.
