Liam Payne has announced that his debut EP will be releasing next week on August 24th, 2018. The “Familiar” singer revealed the news on Twitter, writing, “This ep is a collection of songs that I’m really proud of and want you all to hear.”

The news may come to a surprise to fans, especially because Payne had previously announced the release of a full-length album, rather than an EP, earlier this summer on Good Morning America. During an interview for the morning show, the singer revealed that fans could expect an album in September. However, since then, Payne shared that he has been thinking hard about the songs on his album, believing that many are now from “another age” since he had worked on them a while ago.
“I looked at some of the songs on my album which were done a while ago and they felt from another age,” she wrote on Twitter. “I’m determined for my debut album to truly represent me. I’m now back in the studio working hard to finalise the final few new songs on the record.”
Because fans were already expecting the star to release new music, Payne announced that in the “meantime,” fans could expect an EP full of a “a collection of songs.”

He then went on Twitter to tweet the message: “FIRST TIME 24.08.18.” Although it isn’t clear whether that is the name of his EP or a new single, fans couldn’t contain their excitement over the news of new music from their favorite star.

After making the announcement, Payne removed all of the pictures on his Instagram page.
