Lilly Singh has released the latest instalment of her Girl Love series on her YouTube channel, IISuperwomanII. In these episodes, Lilly promotes her #GirlLove campaign, which is all about ending the cycle of girl-on-girl hate present in our society. She is also joined by a female guest, and they talk about issues that women are currently facing.
A few weeks ago, Lilly took a trip to Washington, D.C to make a Girl Love episode with Michelle Obama, the First Lady of the United States. Ever since her vlog and pictures from that day were posted, we have been eagerly awaiting for this Girl Love episode to drop!
Today, the episode was finally released, and it was full of girl power, as expected!
The ladies began by discussing the importance of education, a value that is shared between Lilly’s Girl Love campaign and Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher campaign. They both believe that if children across the world, especially girls, have access higher education, they will become empowered and successful in their future.
After a super cute moment where the First Lady adjusts Lilly’s mic cord, it was time to have some fun. The two were joined by a pair of students to play a few rounds of a special Reach Higher edition of the popular game Heads Up.
Lilly finished the episode with a game called “Compliment Quickfire”. Lilly held up a picture of a female friend of the First Lady, who had to say the first compliments that came to mind. The women chosen were Dr. Jill Biden, the Final Five, Zendaya, and Lilly Singh herself.
Of Zendaya, Michelle Obama said she is “beautiful, talented, kind, giving, caring, a role-model.” As Lilly said in the video; goals! Zendaya saw the video and responded to the First Lady’s kind words on Instagram.
Isn’t it wonderful to see all of this Girl Love going around? It really does make the world a better place if women are constantly building each other up instead of tearing each other down. Keep up the great work Lilly!
