Little Mix’s ‘Black Magic’ Certified Platinum While Get Weird Album Goes Silver – Listen Up BRIT Awards!

It’s been one week since Little Mix’s latest masterpiece, Get Weird, was released globally. Coming in at number 2 on the U.K. charts, the girl group now have 3 top 5 U.K. albums!

In addition, the album was instantly certified by the BPI for going Silver in just one week. That means a 60k plus sale figure! Their lead single ‘Black Magic’ is now also officially certified Platinum denoting sales of 600,000.

Another added fact to chime in, Little Mix are actually the first U.K. girl group in over a DECADE to have a platinum certified hit. Can you believe it’s been THAT long?

They’re also the first girl group in general to have a Platinum certified song in the U.K. since the Pussycat Dolls’ ‘Jai Ho’ back in 2009. Over 5 years ladies and gentlemen!

Their latest single ‘Love Me Like You’ has bounced up the U.K. charts to number 13 and has the slight possibility of going top ten if enough streaming points accompany its digital sales.

While there have been many rumours that ‘Secret Love Song’ is the next potential single, its huge reaction (especially part II and its LGBT-universal reputability) deems it a grand idea to allow the girls to expand their fan base and expand their following.

The first ‘Secret Love Song’ also features artist  Jason Derulo so maybe they can plan out a double release with both parts made available to the mainstream public.

Either way, Little Mix are definitely on their way to gaining a BRIT nomination this year. (you hear that BRIT awards? – yes, we know you do).
