Today is the first day of 2016, as well as the day that Little Mix’s Get Weird is officially certified platinum in the UK! The news was announced by BPI Music on Twitter during their weekly BPI awards. Get Weird is also Little Mix’s third consecutive platinum album in the UK, following DNA and Salute.Little Mix's 'Get Weird' is Certified Platinum! 1The album has been doing amazing on the charts since it’s release on November 6th, 2015. It only took 7 weeks for Get Weird to become certified platinum, and it’s also the fastest album of theirs to do so. A week after the release of Get Weird, according to BPI, “Little Mix had racked up the sales as their 3rd album ‘Get Weird’ received a Silver certification just one week after its release, just missing the Number 1 spot on the Official Albums Charts. The album’s lead single ‘Black Magic’ also featured in this week’s BPI Awards, going Platinum – making it their highest certified single.'”

Also today, Little Mix’s single ‘Love Me Like You’ leaps from 20 to 11, which is a new peak for the song in its 14th week on the Official Chart. Congratulations to the girls of Little Mix! It seems like 2016 is already starting out great for the girl group!
