Last year, we introduced you to singer-songwriter Liz Loughrey who released an inspiring single called ‘Rise Up’. The Caribbean tinged offering encouraged us all to make a positive change in the world we live in.
After taking time to work on her music, the Toronto born artist is back with a new name and a stronger sound. Now known as Liz Lokre, she is ready to continue her quest for world domination with her liberating music.
Liz’s latest single, ‘Buh Bye’, was released back in May. Produced by Adrian X and Jordan Reyes, the track has been streamed over 130,000 times and was added to global Spotify and Apple Music playlists. ‘Buh Bye’ is a sultry anthem which sees Liz remove any negativity from her life. The track has a strong dance beat but also showcases elements of pop and R&B. There is also a driving guitar line and elements of brass which add an extra layer of strength to the song.
Speaking about the song, Liz said: “This song is about the journey towards empowerment and how good it feels to confidently say ‘Buh Bye’ to anything that was holding me back”.
On Friday, Liz dropped the official music video for ‘Buh Bye’. Partly funded by MuchFACT and directed by Sean McBride and Caroline Torti, the visual is aesthetically stunning. Teaming up with two dancers, Liz shows off her moves in a powerful manner. The visual also combines strong colours which gives an edgy twist to proceedings.

Liz’s new sound is bursting with elements of pop and RnB, tied together with her pleasing vocals, and proves that she is one lady not to be messed with. With music deep in her blood, we have no doubt that Liz Lokre is going to continue her rise to the top.
