It doesn’t seem five minutes since New Zealand singer/songwriter Lorde released her single Green Light and whilst we’ll always love jamming out to it at every chance we get, we can’t wait for her to release the second single from her upcoming album.

Lorde is set to release the second single from her highly anticipated sophomore record Melodrama and the exciting news is…it’s coming this Friday! That’s right, on 2nd June 2017, the Royals vocalist is dropping a song which she shared lyrics to on social media.

We know she loves a cryptic tweet so, in true Lorde style, she announced the release of the yet to be named track by posting black squares with lines of the song written on them in pink. The two images, which were uploaded onto Twitter and Instagram, sent fans into a frenzy as it sunk in that Lorde’s album really is just a matter of weeks away.

The lyrics posted by the chart topper were: “Every night, I live & I die – feel the party to my bones.” At the bottom of the image is the album’s title Melodrama and the second black square revealed that the song will drop at 2pm in New York and 6am in New Zealand on 2nd June.

The single will be dropping hours before Lorde appears at the Governors Ball in New York and shall give music fans a further insight into what they can expect from her upcoming record. She’s already released the lead single, Green Light, as well as Liability, a beautiful ballad which she performed on Saturday Night Live earlier this year.

Are you excited about Lorde’s new single? Let us know what you think it’s going to sound like – will it be another ballad? A straight up bop? A slow jam? Tweet us @CelebMix.
