Earlier today rumours started swirling online that pop superstar Cheryl would be attending the 70th annual Cannes Film Festival next month. But it has now been confirmed by a L’Oreal spokesperson that the 33-year-old singer who only gave birth one month ago will not be attending.
The Geordie babe has attended every Cannes event since becoming a L’Oreal Paris ambassador back in 2009 and has wowed crowds every year from 2010-2016 with her beautiful gowns on the red carpet, but this year we will not be seeing the brunette beauty strutting her stuff.
Speaking to the MailOnline a spokesperson confirmed that since Cheryl only gave birth last month-her first child with boyfriend Liam Payne-understandably she will not be in attendance this year: “Having only given birth less than one month ago, Cheryl will not be attending Cannes Film Festival 2017 with L’Oreal Paris”.
Cheryl announced the birth of her first child last month after keeping her pregnancy private. She announced via Instagram that she and boyfriend Liam Payne had welcomed a beautiful baby boy on March 22nd.

While it has now been confirmed that the former X Factor judge will not be making her first public appearance since welcoming her son into the world, it is likely that she will return to the spotlight this summer as she is due to open her first youth centre in the heart of her native Newcastle as part of her work with her own charity Cheryl’s Trust in partnership with Prince’s Trust.
We at Celeb Mix will miss seeing Cheryl slaying the red carpet this year but we totally understand her reasons for cancelling her appearance this year and we wish her and her little family all the love. We can’t wait to see her back at Cannes next year!
