When you find yourself in the middle of the One Direction fandom, there’s always one moment when it hits you that the experience is so much more than just liking the music that a group of artists put out. It’s the way that in following their dreams, 5 young men made an impact not just on the music industry but on the world.

Without striving for recognition or expecting anything in return; Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik have always been ready to help anyone in need.

So it comes as no surprise that fans discovered that Louis recently donated to a fundraising page to help a child at home. When the story began to circulate of a sweet girl Rylee in Georgia who lives with bilateral close-lipped schizencephaly which leads to her cerebral palsy.

At just 9 years old, Rylee has gone through more than most people will in their lives and she’s done it with a smile. Her fundraising page shares many photos of Rylee where she absolutely glows. She is rarely without a smile and her bright light inspires those around her. It’s also inspired people around the world.

The money raised will go to making sure Rylee can comfortably, making necessary adjustments to the home and aiding in her ability to get a wheelchair that will allow her to get around safely. If enough is raised, the remaining amount will go towards medical procedures that show positive results in trial settings. Who wouldn’t want to help make that happen for Rylee and her family?

This isn’t the first and it certainly won’t be the last time that Louis goes out of his way to give to others, and it’s a clear reminder that in gaining a platform, he’s never shied away from an opportunity to help someone. From throwing a Cinderella ball for sick children to donating to charity organizations, fundraisers, and families in need – his generosity doesn’t stop.

Zayn Malik also shared Rylee’s story on his Twitter account and her family shared that, by his reach alone, almost 2,000 was raised.

If you want to keep up to date with Rylee’s story, you can follow her fundraising page and Instagram account.
